When do school admissions open in Bengaluru?
The window at many schools opens almost a year before the child would start. A school's 2027-28 registration window is shown on its page once the school has published it.
How does school admission usually run?
The window opens, the family fills in a form that is usually online, the school holds an interaction with the child, the parents or both, and an offer follows with a short time to accept. Decide your order of preference before the offers arrive.
What should I ask a school about its age cut-off?
The date the age is measured as at, not just the age itself. Two schools can both say a child must be three by 1 June and mean different things, if one measures to the start of the academic year and the other to the date of application. Ask for the date in writing.
Do schools that admit at nursery continue to Class 10 or Class 12?
Many do, so choosing a pre-primary is usually choosing a school for the years that follow. Each school page shows the classes that school runs.
How do I shortlist schools?
Start with the entry class and the curriculum you want, then travel time, which you will live with every day for years. Check that each school runs the classes you need beyond the entry year, read its published age criterion, and visit the two or three that remain.
What should I ask before accepting a school offer?
The entry class and academic year the offer is for, the date by which you must accept, the documents the school needs and by when, and what happens to the offer if you are waiting on another school. Get anything unclear confirmed in writing before the acceptance deadline.
Do you guarantee a school admission?
Yes, on the cases we accept, and on the same terms as a college admission: we confirm the school's entry class, its published criteria and your child's eligibility before we take the case on, which is before any fee. If a confirmed place does not come through we offer an equivalent school and entry class, and if you would rather not take it our own service charge is refunded.
Can a child change board without changing school?
Sometimes. 59 of the 144 schools on this site run more than one curriculum, and a school that does appears under every board it runs. Ask the school which programmes it runs and for which classes.
