The Edu Consultant

Privacy notice

Version 1.0In force from 13 October 2026

This notice covers this website. It describes the information the site collects, why, and how to ask us to delete it.

What we collect, and where from

When you send an enquiry. The enquiry form — the button that says “Talk to a Counsellor”, “Ask About Management Quota”, “Ask About Direct Admission” or “Ask About School Admission” — asks for a phone number, which is required, and optionally your name and a question in your own words. It also carries one optional box, “I am also interested in studying abroad”, which is unticked unless you tick it; we store whether you did.

Sent with the enquiry, without you typing it: the page you sent it from, the page you arrived from if your browser supplied one, any campaign parameters in the web address (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, ad_id), and the college, course, city or admission route the page was about, so that a counsellor can see what you were reading when you asked.

Your agreement. We store the version of the consent sentence that was beside the send button when you pressed it, and the time your enquiry reached us. That sentence currently reads: “I agree to The Edu Consultant contacting me about this enquiry, as described in the Privacy Notice.” (version 2026-10-10.1).

Your IP address, for one purpose. To stop one person or one script flooding the form, we count recent submissions against your IP address and the number given. These counters are not joined to your enquiry and are not used to identify you.

What we do not collect

There is no advertising pixel, no session recorder and no cross-site tracking on this site. The only cookies set on a public page are the analytics cookies described below. No form here asks for a student’s marks, date of birth or class.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages get read. It runs for every visitor unless you turn it off. Your browser loads a script from www.googletagmanager.com and Google receives the pages you open on this site, roughly where you are and what kind of device you use; it sets cookies named _ga. We do not send Google your name, number or anything you type into a form. You can turn it off at any time on the cookies page.

What we use it for

Your contact details and your question are used to reply to your enquiry and to advise you about admissions. The page and college context lets the counsellor who calls you know what you were reading. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to a college unless you have asked us to approach that college for you.

Your enquiry is stored securely in our database, in India. Nothing you type into the form is ever sent by email.

A copy in a private Google Sheet. So that our counsellors can work from one list, each enquiry is also copied to a Google Sheet that only our own staff can open: the time it reached us, your name, phone number and email address where you gave them, the college and course the page was about, the page you sent it from, whether you ticked the study-abroad box, and the consent sentence you agreed to. Your question in your own words is not copied. Google LLC stores that sheet for us as our processor. A row is deleted from the sheet 24 months after the enquiry reached us.

How long we keep it

Enquiries: 24 months from the last time we were in touch about it, then deleted automatically. You can ask us to delete it sooner, and we will. The anti-spam counters are kept for 30 days.

Asking to see, correct or delete your data

Ask us, and we will do it. Tell us the phone number or email address you used, so that we can find the right record.

Write to enquiry@theeduconsultant.com, or use the contact page. If you tell us to stop contacting you, we stop.

Children

This site is about school and college admissions, so an enquiry is very often made by a parent about a child. The form asks for the enquirer’s contact details, not the child’s, and we ask that it is used by an adult.

Changes to this notice

The version, and the date it took effect, are printed at the top of this page. If we change what we collect, we change this notice and its version at the same time.
