Direct Admission in Bengaluru — What It Means

"Direct admission" covers several different things in Bengaluru: an institution-level entrance, a management-quota seat, an NRI seat, and lateral entry. They have different eligibility, different costs and different legal footing. This page separates them, and shows which of them each college publishes. On the cases we accept, The Edu Consultant guarantees the admission under a signed service agreement; a seat a counselling authority allots is not ours to promise.

Questions

Which of the four routes is being offered to me?

That is the question to ask first, because the four differ in eligibility and in cost. A college's own entrance or interview is open to anyone who qualifies. A management-quota seat is priced by the institution. An NRI seat turns on documentary status. Lateral entry requires a relevant diploma and starts in the second year.

Which courses can a college admit to on its own test?

Most commerce, management, arts, science, design and law courses at a deemed or private university, and many engineering seats under the institutional share. Not MBBS and not BDS: those are allotted on NEET rank through counselling, and no college admits to them on a paper of its own.

Can anyone arrange a government-counselling seat directly?

No. Where a seat is filled through centralised counselling there is no direct route to it, for anyone, at any price. An offer to arrange one is describing a different seat, or nothing at all.

Does a route on one course mean the same route on another?

No. Each course page names only the routes that college has published for that course, and a college that opens a route on one course may not open it on the next. Read the course page, not the college's reputation.

Can I get admission after the application deadline?

Sometimes, where a college still has seats under its own process and keeps it open, or where an authority officially extends a date. Neither can be assumed. For a counselling seat, once the last registration date has passed without an official extension, that route is closed for the year.

What should I ask when I am offered direct admission?

Ask which of the four routes it is and what the college itself publishes for that category. Then ask for the total for the whole course in writing, and for every payment to be receipted in the institution's name.
